Willis Murphy Hickerson is the Minister of Pacesetters/Prime Timers who are the members of the church who are 50 years of age or older.
Hickerson was born in Coffeyville, Kansas and lived and went to school in Topeka, Kansas; Omaha, Nebraska; and Washington, DC. Willis became a member of The Park Church Kingdom Team in December 1999 and after moving from Pennsylvania and joined the church in January 2000. Hickerson received his Bachelor of Theology and Doctor of Divinity from Clarksville School of Theology in Tennessee. He attended Altoona Bible School and additional colleges to continue his education.
<p">Hickerson's favorite book is The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale, which his father encouraged him to read and takes pleasure in all things music. He likes playing the saxophone, mentoring other musicians and leading music workshops. Willis also enjoys promoting and encouraging younger preachers and teaching members of The Park Church the fine art of following the lead of Bishop Claude R. Alexander, Jr.
Hickerson has five children; three daughters Carolyn Elizabeth, Venus Adora, Vousete Tre'Belle and two sons Willis Murphy Jr. and Carl Que Hickerson, Sr.
When asked what sets The Park Church apart and why he an active member Willis thinks of a song that says it best, "To serve this present age my calling to fulfill, O may it all my power engage to do my Masters will." He goes on to say, " The Park Church is the one church I know that has the Pastor I know from the time I've known him, was and is set to lead the Church of God to do the Master's will."
