Taswell Henderson has been with The Park Church almost six years and is the Minister of Assimilation and Community Connections. His role is to help The Park Church guests transition to members and embrace their new church home by attending new member orientation, getting baptized and becoming active in church ministries. Henderson also acts as liaison and board member for several civic organizations for The Park Church and is responsible for The Park Church Honor Guard, a group of men who stand on duty for God during communion services and other special services. Henderson has enjoyed being an active part of The Park Church because it gives him (and the church) the opportunity, “To connect people to the body of Christ in a way that makes them feel welcome, needed and appreciated, and leads them to use their spiritual gifts in the most effective and satisfying way for Christ.”
Henderson continues saying, “Our pastor always pushes us to make a greater difference in our families, church, community, state, country and world for Christ. We are never to be complacent in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Henderson earned his Associate degrees in Engineering and Computer Science from Finger Lakes Community College in New York. He studied Electrical Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology and earned a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Management from Roberts Wesleyan College in New York. He also attended Trinity Theological Seminary and is currently pursing Masters in Business Administration and Masters in Divinity at Gardner Webb University School of Divinity in North Carolina.
Henderson enjoys golfing with his wife, Carolyn and listening to jazz. He and Carolyn have five adult children: Stacey, Wellington, Myque, Taswell III, Andre and seven grandchildren.
